Starfish - Year 4

Hello Starfish!

Welcome back to a our home learning area, I hope you have all enjoyed your weekends and are ready for some more learning! From now on, all our work will be uploaded using Microsoft Teams, so please log in using the details you have been sent. If you have any problems please email the office

admin@stmargaretsipswich.org

I will be marking and giving feedback on one piece of your work each week. Please send in your work using the Microsoft Teams system.

The photo board is still active, so if you have photos of yourself playing and having fun you can still send them in to the year group email address.

Have a fantastic week!

Mr Harrison

Year 4 Photo Board

I would love to see what you are up to each week, so I have created a Year 4 photo board (photo board can be found below). I am very excited to see all of the work you have been doing!

  • The photo should show what you have been up to with your Home Learning.
  • If you are in the photo, make sure it doesn't show your name.
  • If you are not in the photo, just put your first name.
  • All photos should be landscape.

Send your photo to:

starfishandjellyfish2020@gmail.com

In the subject box, please write, 'Photo - followed by your class'.

You must make sure you have your parents' permission to send in any photos.

Fantastic work Starfish, keep it up!

Free apps, websites and recommendations

Several online companies are opening their websites or apps for free over this time to support children learning from home.

Audible by Amazon is free while schools are closed so you can listen to as many stories as you like!

https://stories.audible.com/start-listen

Times Table Rockstars has a partner program called NumBots which has been made available currently for 60 days free of charge. You can access it through TTR using the password you were given at the start of the year.

https://www.robinhoodmat.co.uk/learning-projects/

Great website, full of activities and projects to complete at home.

I would also recommend any of the CGP year 4 books, which can be found at most book retailers, they are a fantastic resource to help with your child's learning.

BBC Bitesize daily lessons and Oak National Academy links below.

Message from Mrs Newbould

Hello my lovely Starfish!

This week I was working at the school and it felt really empty without you. Mr Harrison mentioned the pompoms, so here is a picture of the one I made. I have also been busy painting pebbles. Why don't you give it a try, it's great fun! You could even make your own game of naughts and crosses. All you need is 10 pebbles and some paint or nail varnish. You can paint 5 ladybirds and 5 beetles, like mine, or invent your own style. I would love to see your creations, so why don't you send a photo for our class photo board.

Have a lovely half term. I miss you all.

Mrs Newbould

Miss Wright has been busy!

Hi Starfish!

I hope you are keeping well? I have been trying to keep busy exercising and enjoying the weather at the moment, the sunshine has been lovely!

I've seen all your home learning work that you have been doing, last week I was at school with Mr Harrison and he showed me some of the work you have sent in, it is fantastic! You are doing so well with the home schooling. Keep smiling and stay positive, hopefully we will see you soon!

I went on a walk to Orwell Country Park the other day and I couldn't believe how big it was! It was a very long walk and took me quite a few hours in the sunshine. While I was there I wrote a message in the sand and I thought I would show you. smiley

We do miss you lots but you ae doing such a great job!

Keep smiling!

Miss Wright!
