Penguins - Reception
Buttercup the lamb!
We were very fortunate to have Buttercup visit Puffins and Penguins and loved learning all about how to care for a baby lamb.
Summer Term 2023
Welcome back to the final term in Reception - time has flown!
We have discovered over the last two terms how much the children enjoy talking about and playing with animals, so our topic is going to be 'All Creatures Great and Small'. Watch this space for some exciting activities and learning that is going to be taking place this term!

Spring Term (1) 2023
Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to the Spring Term at St Margaret's, we have a busy term ahead!
This term our topic for the term is going to focus around Transport, so we will enjoy learning different stories from The Hundred Decker Bus, Astro Girl to The Train Ride.
We will continue with our daily phonics sessions, please remember to check Tapestry as we will update what sounds the children are learning regularly. We will also have daily maths sessions, developing the children's counting skills, understanding of number and simple calculations (addition and subtraction).

As stated in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, your child must be assigned a key person to help ensure that every child’s learning and care is tailored to meet their individual needs. 'The key person must seek to engage and support parents and/or carers in guiding their child’s development at home. They should also help families engage with more specialist support if appropriate'. (Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage Setting the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five. 1:16)
