'Geography is a living, breathing subject, constantly adapting itself to change. It is dynamic and relevant. For me geography is a great adventure with a purpose'- Michael Palin

In an ever-changing world it is vital now more than ever to explore and develop our understanding of the planet we live in. As Geography lead I believe it is incredibly important to foster in children an interest and understanding of diverse places, people, resources and environments; together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. Geography’s many cross-curricular links allow it to further develop skills explored in other subjects and presents a range of opportunities to collect and analyse data, research and explore different sources of information.

At St Margaret’s children are taught geographical knowledge in line with the curriculum in an order that allows them to progress their knowledge and explore a widening sphere of understanding of the world around them.

Our aim is to inspire a curiosity about the world and develop skills that are progressive as well as transferable.
