Puffins - Reception
Ahoy me hearties!
We hope you all had an amazing half term break, especially with the beautiful sunshine we have been having! Welcome to a new half term, we are going to have lots of fun with our new theme, 'In a land far far away...'.
You may have guessed from our greeting that this week, we will be thinking all about pirates! We have planned lots of activities which you might like to try, including treasure hunts, making maps and building a pirate ship! Perhaps you can dress up as a pirate one day too? What would your pirate name be, I wonder? Please upload your photos to Tapestry, we are missing you all lots and it is a lovely way to keep in touch!
Please also keep a lookout on this class page each day, as Mrs Mayhew will be uploading a daily video lesson. This will mean that you are able to do some phonics and maths learning together!
Have a great week Puffins! Or should we say Pirates?!

Puffins Photo Board - well done!
Howdy Farmer Puffins!
Well done for another fantastic week of learning, You have done so much learning about farming and farm animals, we hope you have enjoyed it!
Next week, it is half term and so you will be having a well deserved rest from your home learning. There will be no official learning activities for you to complete, so just have lots of fun and enjoy the lovely weather if you can! You will see that we have put together some activities based on the story of 'Dear Zoo'. These are just for fun and are completely optional - they are just there in case you are looking for some ideas of things to do over the half term break.
Thank you so much to parents and carers for your continued support. Have a wonderful half term everyone!
Take care, Mrs Gibbs and Mrs Maudsley
Week 10 - Half Term Activity ideas
Mrs Bigley has sent through some more activities for you! Please do not feel that you need to do them all - just pick and choose the ones you would like to try!
Home learning - week beginning 18.5.20
Hello Puffins! I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.
This week we are going to look at a farm storybook called 'Farmyard Hullabaloo' and have linked the home learning activities to this book. There are also some other stories for you to listen to - perhaps you have also got some of your own favourite farm stories at home?
In Maths, we will be learning about 3D shapes - can you find any 3D shapes at home?
We hope you have a lovely week - keep uploading your photos on to Tapestry and send them in for the website too. We love looking at and responding to them all, we are so proud of the home learning you have done. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Take care and keep safe, Mrs Gibbs and Mrs Maudsley

There is also another website you can access for fun games which allows your child to practise phonics and reading. It is called Teach Your Monster To Read and is free to use on computers (there is a charge to use on other devices such as iPads). It follows Letter and Sounds which is how phonics has been taught, alongside RWI, in Puffins Class.
Have fun reading together!
Hello everyone! It has been wonderful looking at all your learning about bikes (and so much more) you have been doing at home this week! Please don't forget to upload any photographs of yourselves on to Tapestry - we love seeing them and it is such a great way to keep in touch with you! Here is a photo of Mrs Gibbs on her way for a bike ride!
If you are unable to access Tapestry, please email the school on email@example.com and we will try to sort that for you.
