Badminton Year 4

On Friday 18th November some of year 4 were lucky enough to attend a Badminton Festival at Ipswich School Sports Centre. This event was another fabulous event organised by the Suffolk School Games in conjunction with Badninton England. Those children who attended completed a series of badminton related activities which were managed by a wonderful team of Young Leaders from Northgate High School and Suffolk Nwe College.

Everyone had a wonderful time.

A Fantastic Day at the RHS

I am so excited to share this news with everyone. On the 13th October two of our year 6 attended the Area Cross Country Championships at the RHS. They were racing in the minors race which consisted of years 6 and 7. There were approximately 100 competitors in each race coming from all areas of suffolk. Both our competitors did brilliantly with Isla coming in in 11th place (2200m) and Jasper coming 29th (3040m). This means that the both qualify for the next round on the 26th November.

Many congratulations.

Exciting News!!!

School Games

Mrs Bigley is delighted to announce we have been awarded the 'Gold School Games Mark' award for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

We would like to thank all staff and coaches, especially Mr Durrant (Football), Robin (Hockey) and Emily (Squash) for all their hard work! We would also like to thank parents for helping us to transport the children to and from events and we would especially like to thank the children for their hard work and efforts achieving this award, we couldn't have done it without all of you !!

We look forward to applying once again in 2023!
