PTA
WELCOME TO THE PTA PAGE
St Margaret’s School PTA is a registered charity. Our aims are to help develop closer relations between the school and parents and to raise funds for equipment and facilities that benefit the children.
At the moment we have a committee of around twelve parents (but would like more) and teacher representatives. We meet formally once a term (with individual event meetings in between) and do our best (in our limited free time) to raise funds for St Margaret’s School.
We hold an informal meeting at 2:15pm on the first Friday of every month in the staff room at school.
How much do we raise?
During 2008-2009 we have raised over £5,000 and have accumulated over £10,000 in our account.
Where does the money go?
We have agreed, with the Governors, to help fund the school's outdoor learning area.We have paid towards some more laptops for the classrooms. We have contributed towards many of the school's enrichment activities such as funding the healthy eating week in the summer, subsisidising the Y6 trip to London and paying for 'King Henry V111' to attend history day!
What else do we fund?
The money we raise each year also goes towards purchasing books and school equipment and ensures St Margaret’s can benefit from initiatives such as the Copleston School Sports Scheme, which provides equipment and specialist sports coaching through after school clubs.
Parent help
As well as the PTA committee we thankfully have support from many of the parents who help by giving their time to run stalls, donate prizes, make cakes etc. at our big events.
The more people who help, the more fun it is for everyone!
